Esparsette-Cobs
Sainfoin is characterized by a high content of proteins and essential amino acids, while its sugar and starch content is very low.
It is particularly suitable for horses with increased protein requirements, such as sport horses, breeding horses (stallions and mares), growing horses or older horses, where pure hay feeding may not be sufficient to meet their needs.
The tannins, vegetable tannins, contained in sainfoin make a coordinated dosage necessary. In addition, the plant is said to have an antiparasitic effect, which could reduce the occurrence of worm infestations in herds. However, it does not replace regular deworming, but should be viewed as a supportive measure.
Careful integration into the feeding plan is necessary to ensure a balanced and safe diet.
